No animal is more closely tied to the Scottish Highlands and Islands than the Highland cow, and this one was found grazing on Lewis with the pasture land and coastline spread out behind her. Shaggy, horned, and completely unbothered by the camera, she's as much a part of the island landscape as the hills and water around her.
Caught head-on in the long grass, her fringe blown loose by the wind, she looks out with that familiar calm, unhurried expression — the sea and distant shoreline soft in the background behind her.
